Without getting an eye? I have a My Miami that is about to overgrow the circular disk it is on but just has 1 eye in the middle. I think I heard that you CAN frag a chalice without getting an eye but just wanted to make sure.

Thanks, Darren

You can, but they typically do better with an eye. Why not just continue to eat it grow?

The reason for the fragging is I want to try it under different amounts of light. I have had it on the bottom of my 60cube with an AI SOL Blue over it out in the open and it has turned a nasty orange (burnt orange) color. I was going to take a frag and put it in the shade to see what happens.

i would believe that if you put it in shade it will get its color back i have heard on other threads LED's turning chalices all orange or red.

I am just going off what i have red most people stated from the threads i read that they turned orange or a reddish color now granted we all know that not everyones experience is the same i am just basing what i said off some threads that i have read when i was looking to get leds, as well as the LFS by me has a 65g tank that he demos the different leds on and the few Chalices he had in there turned orange under the Leds.

I can't wait to see the fresh cut.

We should place bets on how soon/long a eye will pop out.
