This came in on a snail shell and is starting to really take off. It does not come off the rocks with a toothbrush or pulling on it. Feels a lot like chaetomorpha to the touch.

Tank is a 25g AIO so options might be limited for animals that eat it. I was thinking of trying an urchin and/or an emerald crab.

Any thoughts? Will flucazonale work on it?

I have macroalgae in my display and have never seen a macro that looks like that. I think I would try an urchin first. I doubt an Emerald crab would eat it.

I figured an urchin is likely the best to try first. I have a 90g upgrade in the works so other natural predators may come into play with a slightly larger tank

Mine looks a lot like what ReefQs had. Single stalk and bushy. I think it's a type of Cladophora. I had really good luck with one of those ugly green sea hares but then it died. Got another one, it died without touching it. Got a lettuce nudi, it didn't touch it, laid eggs, then died. This stuff irritates corals and causes them to die. I have some cyphastrea that grows over bubble algae but gets inhibited by this stuff. Hate hate hate it 😔.

Full tank shot? Kinda curious what it looks like from afar
In full disclosure, this tank sits unattended for 2 months at a time because of my work. Salinity kept in check by occasional RODI top offs but other than that it's almost completely closed because of a tight lid with the only gas exchange coming from an air stone constantly running. It was an experiment. A failed experiment. However I have great growth of my "Favia", cyphastrea, favities, and lepto. Gonna tear it down this June. Add sand, maybe an additional power head, and try to cut away all the encrusted corals from the rock. Then my idea is to turn the rocks over so algae side is facing down and re-glue everything to the clean side of rock. 🤦
