I have slabs/slates of coralline algae flake off my glass. I also have Goni skeleton I hate to chuck away. Here’s what I came up with. It’s only an experiment. The coralline slates are very brittle. When covered with encrusting monti or cyphastrea, it

will be easy to break and place in plugs. We shall see.
