Could this be the Trident announcement?

The only thing that was said in that regard was hoping to be released by Qtr 1/2 of 2018, but busted dates happen with every company. I am not sure why the up in arms with that. Its not like a company is going to hold on to a product that can be released. If it wasn't released that means it wasn't ready, which would create in-repairable backlash for putting out an incomplete product. I applaud them for that aspect of things.
Agreed. It's not good publicity but I feel it is much better to miss an arbitrary release date than to release a "less than ready" product.

I was refreshing from 3:00-3:05 and never saw any available on BRS or any other site. Maybe I missed it but not sure how

That’s because BRS jumped the gun and made them available about 15 minutes early. I managed to get one.
Glad you got one of the 35 units BRS had in preparation for north America market launch ;)

FYI, BRS showed 60 in stock when I placed my order.

I agree with that as well! I also feel however, Neptune had to of known the Trident was no where near ready when they announced that it was coming and you need a new apex to run it.

My point still stand...100 unit for the largest distribution channel in north America?...

It creates a sense of urgency and they will leak out little batches to the big retailers in the coming weeks/months, then it will never be sold out once the urgency has faded.

There's always at least one jerk on the Internet trying to exploit a situation:

(for the record, I am not that jerk)

I really think its simpler than that...100 unit is a neighborhood target not country target even if you want to create hype..regardless, I think this will only make customers more annoyed.
I remember I got my khg 2 and half years ago when Neptune announced trident and said it will not be stand alone and need apex upgrades.
I now own 2 khg love it and been using it while customers still waiting on neptune i can see how some consumers will shift to ghl or khg or even wait for the coming ion tester that will not even need reagent..

I'm aware of people who played with a working model almost 1 year before it was first announced. I am not aware of what caused the delays but I suspect Neptune is frustrated by the negativity caused by all of the delays after the announcement.

When can beta testers reveal their Trident experience/impressions? Thanks.

It's awesome. It works. Set up is easy. Reagent changes are easy. Calibration is easy. The precision is great. The accuracy seems great too. Easy to code into fusion - I added this line to my carx very quickly - If alk>9.4 then Off. Having the alk 4 times a day is useful and instructive, the Mg and Ca are a bonus in my book. It does what they said it would do. Seems like a home run to me.

I just want one still, real bad. I struck out last night, trying to do things "on time", and again this morning on MD. Then the car in front of me took my spot in the parking lot pulling into work. ;Dead

I've been waiting far too long on this darn thing - was shut out of the NSI and even got axed when Jim Welsh was going to build a few for friends, as Neptune acquired it from him just before that was possible. :(

You can't choose that. The device needs the minimal testing to function properly.

Is this true of other monitors? I know with reefbot you're at the mercy of each individual brand of reagent expiring, which brings its own headaches. But I'm not sure how things like Alkatronic and GHL monitors go about it...

There are options on how many you need to take, but there is a minimum number. I'm not aware of any that let you take fewer than 1 per day. I have found 3 per day to be a sweet spot but 4 per day would be good, too. Consumption varies throughout the day so if you are going to use it to control dosing it is better to have it set up so that sampling allows it to dose more during the day and less at night imo.

Can Trident's 'Automatic Dosing Control' feature be used with systems using BRS dosers? Or is DOS required?

You can, but you lose some of the fail-safe functions. Apologies, as I don't remember the specifics. It was covered in the video from last night - probably in the last 15 - 20 minutes or so.

For what it's worth, BRS had 74 available when I logged in (before 3:00 am Eastern).

Except that BRS literally had at least two times that amount! Joking.

There have been a lot of posts with people guessing about how many BRS had. Figured that I could add what I saw on their website early this morning. Clearly there weren't enough, wasn't stating - or implying otherwise.
