Huge thank you to @Fish & Coral Store for these free frags from their giveaway earlier this week. These were packaged very well and they are very healthy for shipped corals. I'm excited to see them once they have fully recovered! I will definitely order from them at some point.

Little bonus update: The big feather duster has recovered very well and his colors have gotten much more vibrant. The camera isnt great at capturing it, but he's like tangerine orange.

How bright is that Hulk??? Mine is SUPER UBER Ultra bright. Also, that Jack-O is gonna be gorgeous!

Watch the sweepers on the two Leptos (Pavonas tend to be worse, but they both pack a punch) and the Chalice.

Just put some distance between them all to hopefully avoid any sweeper issues.

My Pavona can get half to 1 inch sweepers, so not super bad, but they pack a sting to other corals.

My Hollywood Stunner Chalice has put out 2 to 3 inch sweepers at times.

I mean I may be interested, haha. What’s the colony look like?

It's completely covered this rock and now it sheds scales that I have to clean up before it spreads

Would you say a birds nest is a good first SPS coral? I have an area near the top of my tank that has strong flow. Once I’ve figured out all my problems (LOL: dinos, bryopsis, GHA), I’m wanting to try my hand at it.
It’s not a bad choice but I’d go with a montipora as a starter

Montipora are fairly easy and come in a variety of colors and growth types. You can get encrusting, branching, plating, or a combination. My personal favorites are the Setosa (lower light) and the Spongodes.

Digitatas are another great option if you want easy "sticks".

After Montis, Stylophora are a great second stick with fluffiness like a Birdsnest and they're less likely to RTN overnight just because.

Every reefer within 100 miles has some of my spongodes now. If you wanna see some results quick i recommend it as well! Lots of different growth patterns. Ive got one in my tank that is encrusting and another that is sorts doing a palm tree type thing.
