dentist and painful extractions

have you had your wisdom teeth extracted? just got 2 of mine done and holy moly the pain is not going away even with vicodin..If you have had this done how long did it take for you to be pain free?:sad:

I was put to sleep and had all 4 done at once... Didn't feel any pain after at all just a little soreness the next day but nothing compared to the abcess one they pulled!!!! It was all relief....

Had all four pulled, told my boss i would be out a day haha try 5 , very uncomfortable two being impacted.. Make sure to keep those holes cleaned out!!! Good luck:bigsmile:

I'm getting partials and just had 6 of my bottom teeth pulled. 3 on each side 6 weeks apart.
The first time they pulled the 3 the pain went away with tylenol but the last time vicodin didnt help mine either and it lasted about 2 weeks.

Man i just got chills remembering my wisdom teeth...the extraction was a piece of cake but the days after was rough. Keeping them clean and not being able to eat solid foods for a few days killed me. Hope you feel better!!

I had the same thing done. One had started to come in and the dentist decided that I should just have all of them pulled. I was given 2 days of light duty to recover. I don't remember it being to painful.

Ugh. I hate the dentist. I had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled at the same time and I was put under for that. It was pretty bad after I woke up. They cut a nerve in my jaw and I still don't have full taste/feeling in my tongue 8 yrs later. :bigsmile: The pain lasted only a couple days or week from what I can remember, but because of that nerve thing I couldn't open my mouth to eat real food for a month. Great diet.

I also had to have 2 implants put in last year, so had 2 lower molars pulled. I didn't get put under for that. Dentist said that he has never had an extraction go better, like butter. :) That only took about 2 days for all pain to be gone. I still have most of the pain meds for that.
