So last saturday I bought some Indo torches and today as I was inspecting my tank I happened to see something growing inside one of my holes in my rockwork it looks like some type of coral almost like a torch, Could it be that my newly bought torches spawned and this is a baby ?

At first all I saw was the aiptasia. Further look shows what looks to be the head of a torch. They will live for a bit after falling off. That would be my guess.

Haha yes I need to get that under control asap.
Also would that be enough time for the torches to spawn ? I wonder if the ecotech radion moonlight setting had anything to do with this.

More likely a polyp bailed out... Not spawned.

Spawning they will release eggs and wouldn’t grow that fast. That appears to be a head that has let go.

Yeah, that’s what it looks to be.

You think so ? By a polyp you mean a tentacle ? Or a actually small head that might have been attached to the torch skeleton ?

That is what it looks like to me. Keep in mind just how tiny a spawn would start as and how many there could be.

Are any of your new torches missing a head that was there when you purchased it? That would be a good place to start with us helping you figure this out.

I think I’m experiencing something similar with my indo torch. I see what looks like a good chuck about to come off and even considering helping it along since it looks like it’ll just drop off one day and disappear into a different part of the tank never to be seen again.
Did you bailed out piece recover ?

decided to attach a pic circling what looks like bail out. I'm tempted to slice to glue to a flag plug since it's a good size chunk.
