Congrat's Lee... can't wait to see it wet... btw awesome job on the stand!! I know it's not easy...LOL... i'm currently working on my first diy stand hehe..... I'll be lucky if it turns out half as good as yours!..
thanks for the kind words....

Sadly, my build is taking even longer than Lee's. I just know better than to start a thread before I have water in the tank. :p

Well I got the overflow built and installed on the tank and pretty much got it ready to polish....almost there... ended up buying a ocean motions 4 way today to throw on the dart closed loop so that's gonna kind of stall things for a few days until I receive that and figure out the plumbing..... Man these little tanks are tough to set up with the limited room under them lol.... Gonna knock the sump out tomorrow at work and get it all ready to go inside the house....1smile1

you'll like the OM with the Dart, doing the plumbing sux but should have some awesome flow for sure

Yeah I saw your post it made my buy one lol.... I am so used to vortecs and random flow I'm not sure I can handle a steady constant flow from a closed loop... The om should satisfy all my needs of nice random flow...1smile1

it should,if not,get a bigger pump LOL if I had it to do over on mine,I'd drill the bottom or back and install bulkheads so they'd be hid,but I wasn't sure at the time that I wanted the CL...oh well, you live and learn LOL

Well here is some updated pics tank is 100 percent, sump is built just needs to be routed flush and polished no biggie there.... It's getting filled this weekend wife permitting haha.... Nothing left to do but the plumbing once the ocean motions arrives.....1smile1
Looking through 3ft of acrylic always looks kinda cool....

Tank and sump look great. What are you going to use to cement the aquascape together? Also what did you use on the back of the aquarium to make it black?

where are you gonna drill for the CL returns ? if you're going through the bottom, you can easily hide the bulkheads with the rock scape,it'd make for a lot cleaner install....that's how I'd do it,if I could do it again.....but thats just an idea :D

the polishing on the edges looks beautiful, very nice indeed

I laminated the 1" clear with a piece of 1/8" black on the back.....

exactly what I did Willie.... The bottom of the tank is drilled with a 2" drain and four 1" returns that will all be hid in the rocks if you back to the first page you will see when I was playing with the aquascape I was hiding the returns inside the rocks..... I'm gonna spray foam the 45's that I'm using inside the tank also so if you peak around the sides you still won't notice any plumbing in the tank..... The display will have zero wires "no power heads" and zero plumbing just simple and clean as can be....;)

haha thanks jt..... it does blow my mind some times when i see a pile of garbage and turn it into a diamond....1smile1 i always wait till last to polish her up because i get really excited then and i start slapping stuff together to just get it done...
