So I used the randy Holmes sodium bicarbonate recipe about 1.5-2 weeks ago... When I started dosing, I only need about 10ml to keep it semi stable. Now I'm up to 20-25ml. Is it losing its potency or is the coral using it more? Nothing new added. Keep it in a Pyrex dish with a lid. Dosing manually with one of those baby medicine syringes

Interesting! Maybe the coral are just growing more and I can't tell, which means they are consuming more

Yes, that can certainly be true!

@Randy Holmes-Farley getting low on my sodium bicarbonate solution but can't for the life of me remember how much to use vs how many ml of rodi water. Can you please link the page with the recipe? Thank you!!!
Check your notebook...(?) Or search.. or at least try, by any means.

From it:

Dissolve 297 grams of baking soda (about 1 1/8 cups) in enough water to make 1 gallon total. This dissolution may require a fair amount of mixing. Warming it speeds dissolution. This solution will contain about 950 meq/L of alkalinity (2660 dKH). As mentioned earlier, Arm & Hammer is a fine brand of baking soda to use in these recipes. Be sure to NOT use baking powder. Baking powder is a different material that often has phosphate as a main ingredient.

Thank you!! I found this last night but it was throwing me off saying baking soda. I thought the sodium bicarbonate was something different.

Sodium bicarbonate = baking soda

Sodium carbonate = washing soda = soda ash

Just an fyi, the reason I recommend baking soda to make your own sodium carbonate by baking is simply because it is inexpensive in a high quality food grade, while food grade or other high grade sodium carbonate/washing soda/soda ash is not generally as inexpensive.

10-4. I appreciate you dumbing it down for me. Thank you
