I'm really surprised that no one else has posted. That's a really nice looking efflo, it is a wild piece or a 'named' aquacultured piece?

Would definitely like to see more efflo pics.

I have owned 3 different efflos and I can't figure them out for the life of me haha... I never seem to get good color on mine at all currently I have the $500 and it's a brownish light pink color and that's it.... Had a mini colony at one time same thing just a Maroon color prolly brown lol.... I dont know if it's to much light or not enough I never seem to find a happy place for them...

I have this tiny frag (sold to me as WWC Efflo), it has been encrusting for months and now it's getting some purple tips. Looking forward for more efflo pics!

Lee-
I have two, a larger colony piece and a smaller piece of the $500. I originally had them in the upper 1/3 of my tank, about 8" from the surface and couldn't get them to color up how I wanted. I noted the shoots on the shaded parts would bring out the brighter purple colors I was looking for. So I moved them both down to the lower 1/3 of the tank and have had much more color "pop."
Both are still getting mod-high flow that I think they appreciate though.

I've had a couple of Efflo's - Vivid's, $500, etc. Didn't have much luck at getting the $500 to color up - got tired of it and sold it locally. The Vivid's got to be around the size of a dinner plate. Ran out of room for it and sold it the other day. Here are some pics of the Vivid when I had it. They are great pieces and can grow quickly but they are very difficult to keep the color on once they get larger in my experience.

I've always been obsessed about them as well. I had a really nice one from Ian, and then a $500 efflo frag I was growing out. I think efflos are the coolest looking acro out there. They are very hard to find sometimes though.

Hey Troy with your tank throw it on the bottom slightly shaded under one of your big colonies and leave it for at least 2-3weeks I'll bet ya pull some color ;-)

Nice ones Henry!

The $500 efflo looks like it has a coat of plasma or something on it!

What lighting do you run?

Thanks KLR, I used to run 2 250 watt mh with 2 t-5's but now i'm running 2 119 watt 20k version leds. The efflo I used to have took forever to color up. I'm thinking the same for this one.

Just had a question about an efflo I've never owned one, is it true you can mount the standing up and they will plate out. Sorry about the newbie question.

You can mount it anyway you please. But, unimpeded, it will eventually grow out in a circular, flat pattern.

If have a spot for yours you should mount it sticking straight out the side if your rockwork. Make a little shade for some of those chalices.
