Here’s my go. May not be the neatest, but I don’t have anything on the floor. All the cords are routed and tucked behind the plywood slats. Leaving some spaces between the plywood slats allows me to put the cables where I want them. Not beautiful, but it works well.

Dang man you got a tablet mounted in there looks very cool. Love the cowfish!
@mattroth54
Thanks! It’s an old iPad that works well as Apex/mobius display. Bessie is the cowfish. Almost as much personality as our dog. Great fish! Here’s a video of her. More cowfish!

Be careful with that, especially if you leave it plugged in (USB). I did this on my system and the battery swelled almost causing a tank fire. Just a word of caution.

I tried to organize a bit at first. Tied cables down, marked them, routed and strapped up. Then came routine maintenance. Need to pull a pump for servicing. Need to replace the bulb on the UV. Need to pull the skimmer for cleaning etc etc so have to cut everything apart and find the right cable in a bundle to pull. Loose tie wraps etc acting a raceways help some as I don’t have to cut everything but in the end I’ve largely given up. Larger tank with more space such as a fish room behind I can see working but in a full up reef under cabinet. I just don’t see it, at least for me. Too much work

It looks like I missed this thread last week!

My (late) contribution is seconding automotive split sleeving!

Specifically, braided nylon split sleeving! — this install was done with AlexTech brand products, just because I had them around already… though I’m exploring several other suppliers/styles as well!

High voltage and low voltage umbilicals, power wires sheathed in red sleeving wherever realistically possible… no labels yet in these photos, though…

(The primary advantages of braided nylon over corrugated semi-rigid split sleeving are that it is much more flexible, and can expand to roughly 3x initial size in many cases, allowing you to hide excess cord bundles in your sleeving!)

I just built a new tank and this is what I did. I used 1/2” pvc board and built a small cabinet in my stand with the opening to the outside on the left. I placed everything neatly and secured it. Under the bottom shelf and behind the switch panel is where all the extra wires are. Out of sight.

Can you share information of the Jugs? Looking for something bigger that i have at the moment.

Thanks in advance.

If you’re talking about the thin tall jug, that’s next to my sump that’s my auto top off. That is the reef can. I believe I got it off saltwater aquarium. I’m not 100% sure. It’s a 10 gallon auto top off container with two openings. One of the front to fill and one on the back where you can run your pump and pick up tubes out of.

Thanks. That is correct. I use BRS jugs but they are only 4L (1 gal.) for Alk, CA and Kalk.

Will look for them. Thanks.
