Following, I've been wanting to get one myself and I am curious about the best one.

I've only used Red Sea ReefMat 500. I had it on my G2 200 and moved to my 500 Peninsula. I picked up a ReefMat 250 for the G2 200 when I moved it to the bedroom.
The only thing I had to do is clean the sensor every now and then. It's been pretty solid for me.

I'm in a similar boat - had a Clarisea on a tank a few years ago but I've been out the hobby since.. currently looking for stuff to buy now.

I use the gen2 Klir 7" drop in, and once you figure out the quirks, it works like a charm.
That's a new one to me, looks great for when space is tight!

Redsea reefmat has worked like a beast for me. actually really impressed with the build quality

Two for the ReefMat - to be honest this is next on my list against the Clarisea. The Clarisea was great for me once it was running, but I found the structure of it to be somewhat brittle and easy to break bits off. It also seems most used examples have suffered similar fates.

I was actually quite shocked how strong the reef mat is, not broken anything as of yet! also you can order pretty much every bit of it individually if you ever needed to. probably the only RS product I think is really solid and I cannot complain about anything. better than the CS imo

I didn't know you could buy all of the parts separately!

Reef Factory makes 3 sizes, I have the Medium.
Not finicky at all, just make sure the roller hooked into the motor is a VERY tight fit.
I found I could close the overflow vent, avoid spillage & extra dirt in the sump by raising the float inside the unit. Easy to clean & change rolls. Exchanges with support were quick & handled promptly.

I have a bubble magnus on my frag tank. It does the job, but a pain to replace rolls. Waiting for Reef Factory to announce their Black Friday deals and I’ll be purchasing a Large Smart Roller for my 180.

I use Klir 7" Roller for several years now and can't complain about it. I use it controlled by Hydros and it's a working horse, but it can be used as standalone unit as well. It fits right in the filter socks braces without any modification to the unit or the sump. That was the selling point for me vs other brands. At the end all filter rollers might work the same way. "Removing particles from the water column polishing and filtering before it can break down".
