Fungus?

I have had a Orchid Dottyback for about ten days. It seems to be doing well and eating, although it hides in his cave most of the time except when eating. but a few minutes ago I noticed it had a small white streak about 1/4" long on it's side. Everything else appears normal. It looks to me like it may have brushed up against the dry rock, but I am concerned that it could be fungal. All water parameters look good. I ordered some PrimaFix overnight from Amazon just in case, but I don't want to treat if it is not fungus.
I will try to get a decent picture if I can.

Any thoughts? Thanks.

Oh, I got a red lined wrasse at the same time and he looks great and is very active.

I am really beginning to think this is fungus and should start treatment today. This is the only spot.

It may be fungus, but I wouldn't rule out an injury. To be safe, you could treat with mardel. It's done well for me in the past.

Fungus is very rare in marine fish, most people mistake lympho for fungus.
That being said, I have doubts on it being either and would probably agree with @BornHandy on it likely being trauma/injury. However, keep a close eye on it as brook and Uronema can start like this, for now though, if its removable, maybe get it in a QT and treat with melafix would be my approach first.

Thanks to all for your helpful responses. This really is a great place! As I have a few brand new additions to the QT, I started treating the DT with Pimafix yesterday as a precaution as it is supposed to be really safe. I will maintain very close observation.
