Getting Out of the Hobby – Livestock & Equipment for Sale

Location: Canton CT

If you want more specific photos please let me know.

After nearly a decade in the hobby, it’s time for me to step away. Before listing the equipment, I need to rehome all livestock. Everything has been in my system long‑term, with no new additions for about a year. I run a UV sterilizer, and the tank has had zero disease issues and zero losses. All fish are healthy, fat, and well‑established.

It may not be easy to capture these fish until a lot of the corals and rock are gone so I may need to sell corals first.

Livestock

Clownfish Trio – $150 for all 3 Sold

Chocolate variant (exact morph unknown). Long‑term residents, bonded group.

Purple Tang – Large (≈6") – $150

Thick, vibrant, and extremely healthy.

Sailfin Tang – Large (≈6") – $100

Beautiful fish. Has a facial scar that has improved over the years.

Sailfin Tang – Medium – $75

Dart Fish - $25

Yellow Foxface – Medium – $100

Yellow Foxface – Large – $120

Both are great algae eaters and very healthy.

Hippo Tang – Large – 120

Hippo Tang – Medium\Large – 100

You didn’t list prices, but typical ranges are:

Dragonette – Large, Fat, Thriving – $50 Sold

Purchased from a hobbyist about a year ago. Extremely healthy and well‑fed.

Corals & Anemones

I have a variety of corals and many anemones. Prices will depend on size, but I’m not looking to squeeze every dollar — expect very good deals especially if you're buying fish.

Live rock will be included for free
with most coral purchases unless you’re only taking a small frag from a larger colony.

Interested in dragonette and possibly some corals. New to this site. But not reefing. Is mandarin eating frozen and pellets or only pods? And excuse my ignorance still learning to navigate site. I don’t see where pm is

I have just one chromis in the tank. When I purchased the mandarin from a hobbyist he told me it ate frozen food, but I have never observed that to be the case. My system is pretty mature though with tons of pods so I suspect it was not hungry enough to go for frozen.

I am getting a lot of questions about equipment and shipping quotes. I am going to hold off on answering questions about shipping for now as it takes me time to figure out what each piece of equipment would cost to ship and I am not ready to start selling equipment. Prices may change by the time I do. Feel free to research shipping prices on your own though. My zip is 06019.

I just uploaded a video to the original post. It shows a lot of the fish. I am ready to start selling fish. I have not sold any corals so if you're buying a fish I will give some killer deals on corals.

This weekend I sold my clownfish and dragonette as well as some corals. I have to say I have some mixed emotions about selling livestock and equipment for a hobby I was so into for so long, but it is time to take a long break.
