So this coral was doing even better than my Kenya tree for quite awhile. Now it is always in its ball. Color seems to be fading, it doesn’t look well. When I first introduced it to my system my blue legged hermit was kinda “bopping” it. And two days ago I saw him sitting right on top of the balled up gonio...with that and by looking at it is there anything that stands out that I can fix or need to do?

Gonis can just mysteriously close or die for unknown reasons. I bought a purple one and it was doing nicely but the same thing happened that you are experiencing. I gave up on it and bought a red goni. The red one is thriving and doing great. Something you can try is putting it on the sandbed with low light and low flow. Also, is yours aqua-cultured or wild caught? If wild caught, youre probably out of luck.

Also, hermit crab may be messing with it because the goni could be dying already.

Gani's need good light and need to be fed and they usually make it just fine. Do some research on youtube tidal gardens has a good video about goni's
