We are not grillin people. I will make the pasta and sauce with Italian sausage and meatballs as requested.
Salad, garlic bread.

My husband loves to grill. And he better this weekend. I want a steak and some chicken wings. Maybe a grilled salmon to take to the in-laws.

office hours today. So I’m nice and relaxed. Then it’s the weekend

I like smoked salmon and make that in a small electric smoker.
Once I learned to use my cast iron skillet I stopped grilling much. The steak is better from the skillet.

I love the sear from the grill.
Don't get me wrong. Cast iron steak is amazing as well.
Smoking salmon is a new challenge to learn. It's up to the husband when he wants to try.

Jill likes hers well done. Easy in the skillet. Almost impossible on the grill. At least for me.

I can bring the Chiantti annnnnddd some smoked salmon.

Good Morning (almost afternoon here) Folks.
Spent a good part of the morning doing storm cleanup. Last year, I dug up a Mimosa sapling ( took 11 of them to get one to survive) and planted it in our upper “nature area” where Angela’s shade deck is. They are very invasive ( think of them as the GSP of the plant world) and the saplings pop up everywhere. By the time they are a foot tall, they have a tap root about 2 feet deep so it’s very hard to get one out without killing it. After 10 failures, “Mimi the Mimosa” was planted where Angela wanted her. In a years time, it grew almost 4’ tall and was doing great. Yesterday, a giant dead limb came down out of one of the white oaks and guess where it landed. Right up against Mimi! She lost a few limbs but I treated them with tree wound sealer. Fingers crossed!
Anybody ever do their salmon on the grill cooking on a wood plank. Yummy!
Weather here is supposed to be nice for the holiday weekend. We don’t really have any plans because we’re going to the Smokey Mountains next weekend.

Greetings! i had such a good time laying in bed today i let me indulge.
72 and sunny so the chinchilla cage is on the porch so she can have a dust bath. dust indoors is bad for electronics and chinchillas don't do well in 80+ degrees since they are Andean varmints.
Enjoy what you have and who you have. thank God for both and when it is the 'who', try to let them go with a hug, a smile, and a "Y'all come back now, ya hear?, when they head for the door.
