Looking back though, my tank was getting pretty full back then. These are still taken around 2001.

That tank looks awesome! I would be ecstatic to have something that looked like that.

What was so different about the plumbing? I remember getting a hang on the back skimmer circa 1997 and we thought we were basically the equivalent of NASA engineers.

Basically with the invention of AIO systems, smartly engineered to be inclusive on multiple scenarios. Also just being younger I guess and using whatever you could think of, no consideration for reducing your bends, shorter runs of pvc, that type of thing. I think every bit of plumbing on my redsea is a total of four feet, that includes the emergency overflow, hell my old tank did not even have an emergency overflow. Remember the durso standpipe gurgling?

I guess so, I still have the website saved and just recently brought it down last month from zero new post for 2 years, nada. It appears few people do forums these days. Yep, still kicking along, best tank I have ever owned. If you ever want flashbacks, I still have quite a few pictures of the MBRK get togethers.

Sure, this is a horrible shot though. I still have not picked up a good lense for the big camera on distant shots, so this is taken with a 5 year old cell phone. Even though the picture sucks, you can see even the outlets for the pumps are now covered, the one on the left is completely covered by xenia, which is fun since that head spins, the xenia takes a nice circular ride.

I have been getting ready for my expansion from a 35g to a 75g. Well, last night there was an accident involving the new tank, and.... well, it doesn't look like I am expanding any more. So now I'm trying to get rid of some stuff that was to go in the 75. This is what I can return. I'll offer it here for anyone before hitting the facebook groups. I have a furniture cart that I use to move stuff around for painting and finishing. I had the 75g aquarium on it to paint the back. At the end of the day I went to move everything inside and a wheel caught in the grass, snapped off, and the cart dropped and smashed the front glass of the aquarium.

I would hold off selling and look for a used tank. Just bide your time. One will come up cheap

I am not getting out of the hobby, I am just postponing my upgrade. I'm postponing for three reasons:

1. I will be gone for 4.5 months later this year so upgrading had to be done now.

2. As I'm planning the upgrade to a 75, I keep thinking about going bigger.

3. We are potentially moving twice by the end of 2024.

So at the end of 2024, I will hopefully be able to go big and get all of the gadgets I want. For now, I will just enjoy my low tech 35 with 4 tiny fish.
