Gyre vs regular wave maker?

I currently use an AI Nero 3 for my 25 gallon peninsula AIO. I am seeing some dead spots since my scape is a cove style, and some detritus builds up there. The wavemaker also channels the flow too much and blows the sand out of a corner until it’s bare.

I’m wondering, would using a gyre power head be better?

Please ignore the algae build up. Still working on getting my protein skimmer situation figured out. The chambers on the tank are hard to work with.

I can't speak for higher quality wavemakers like Nero's or MP's but I can say that my Maxspect XF-330 move a lot of water. I set one up just below the surface on one end of my standard 60 gallon and plugged it in. Default setting was 50% and it was like I'd set a tornado loose in the tank. Everything that wasn't anchored down tight took off including any random chunks of algae growing on rocks and equipment. I had to set the max to 30% and after feed mode ends it will kick most of the uneaten food back up like a second course for the fish.
