has R2R saved your bacon??

what about some of the heavy hitters? im curious what r2r has done for you. or do you just only come on to give help? @vetteguy53081 , @VintageReefer , @tbrown, to name a few!
45 years of doing this, I like Paul B and some of the veterans can at this point offer insight. This is a hobby where we never stop learning and owning a pet store in the past, I remain up to date with new products, industry news, legislature and attend yet many seminars and friends with some of the big boys in the industry

You would think that somebody that has been around since the copper age would make a guy a copper fish… maybe even barter it for some homemade bacon.

I've definitely grabbed a lot of information from Reef2Reef and have done my best to help others struggling with some of what I do/have struggled with.

I would say the most impactful thing R2R has done for me is provide me with feelings of inspiration and connection.

I’ve been Reefing a long time and I feel I have my methods and system pretty much perfected and they go against the norm.

One day I decided to join because I wanted to share my knowledge, experiences, and methods, and show that reef tanks don’t have to be a full time job and you can be successful without the stress

I came to inspire others, but met some incredible people and constantly see incredible tanks, and ended up being inspired myself and motivated to push on and improve wherever I can.

please don't put "bacon" in the title. I too came here thinking food was being offered

I've made a ton of people I consider friends here in Reef2Reef. Also, I've learned and had many questions answered.

I try to work through unanswered and new questions and answer the ones I can because that's what's been done for me.

The person who has likely saved the most reef tanks (preemptively) is Randy Holmes-Farley in my opinion. By knowing what to chemically rule in + out in any scenario he's stopped a million bad calculations and unplanned errors and left a legacy of objective material that applies to future reef tanks. Over 25 yrs. Plus currently available for consult, that's a big deal.

I for sure thought ammonia from a dang cat box might be killing my reef in 2023. After discussions with R and unfortunately keeping the cat, I was able to find the real culprit and the bleaching stopped.

Yes - @Jay Hemdal and all the #fishmedics here saved my fish and my sanity many times! I’m very grateful.

What’s more important — when I wife questioned my addiction and spend, I always referred her to R2R; highlighted that we have 10 THOUSAND+ active addicts like myself, esp those TOTM tank builds and massive systems. "See honey, I’m not that crazy — look at all these guys! ". She would leave me alone for a few months after that…
