Helios Heater On But Not Heating

Hi everyone. Last night I did my twice a year major cleaning in my sump. This included cleaning my heater sensor and elements. Overnight the temperature in my tank dropped by 4°.

My set temperature is 77°. The current room temperature is 70°. Which is pretty typical for that room. So other than the cleaning no major changes.

The helio is on and both element lights are green. When I feel the elements to touch they are warm, but I would not describe them as hot.

I have tried rebooting the heater and that didn’t seem to do anything. For now I have a cheap back up heater in there to try and get the temp back up.

Any ideas what might be going on with the Helio?

Heaters fail often which is why controllers are always recommended. If having an issue already I wouldn't try to fix it, and just get a new one.

Can you change the heater elements only on that controller?

This is why I never clean anything in my sump lol. Maybe I live under a rock but I've never even thought of cleaning a heater or a heat controller sensor other than optical sensors for ato and mechanical float switches but I don't see how cleaning them would cause a problem. Maybe just coincidence :thinking-face:

Where is your sensor located and where are the elements? Do the red heat lights come on for the elements?

Sounds like you burned the controller fuse like what just happened to me. Now I'm looking for a new fuse.

Helio heaters aren't cheap. They have a 5 year warranty. It could just be the controller fuse.

Hello, I am searching the internet trying to find where in this heater system I can find a fuse and also where I can find one to purchase. Will you please let me know, where do you find the fuse in the system and where did you buy it?
