i am sorry i cant provide my parameters but i bought salfert test kits instead of elos and have no clue how any of you use these things

i am just wondering if it looks bacterial or like the results of a predator as opposed to my chemistry being a little out of whack
the damaged portion looked a little off green last week

thanks a ton for your time in advance

there was a guy i moved tues due to teh most massive sweepers
thought that might have been what turned it light green to begin with

How fast did it recede? The rest of it looks perfect which leads me to also believe that something was stinging it. If it keeps receding sometimes your only option is to frag it before you lose the whole thing but I would just keep a close eye on it to see if it progresses without that coral by it that you moved. Good luck, I love favias and yours is a nice one.

i would frag off the "red" part and put it in a higher flow area. that looks like the same thing that happens to acans from time to time. when they get that red looking skeleton and just die off without warning. i think it's bacterial.

I agree it looks like something is stinging it.
Read the directions on the Salifert test kits. They are pretty easy to use, and accurate.
