I just started a tank and my return line is dripping at a pretty constant rate and I can’t seem to get it to stop! Any suggestions?

There are two common grades of SS. 304 and 316. 304 is not chloride safe. 316 is mildly chloride safe. So it's not a matter of fake vs real. It's a matter of knowing what you're buying. 304 is the most common type.
+1 sort of. Many more than 2 grades of stainless steel. You have your 300 series, commonly 304, 316, then you have your 400 series 416, 440 common. And others 316 is considered marine grade do to increased chloride resistance.

Great information. We use 316 at work so that's all I know.

Thanks! The metal one will do for now but thanks for the heads up on corrosion later on, I’ll definitely have to get some of those plastic ones that BigLew11 recommended!
thanks to you all for your insight!
