I'm just practicing patience this year, now that my tank is a year old, some of the issues with a new tank have settled. I am looking to have stability across my parameters, flow and lighting.

Goal is to set up a solar powered pure Lee Chin Eng system (no water pumps, external filtration just live rock). Been thinking about it for about 30 years so got a pretty good sequence of putting it together. But an outside observer would probably think I'm flying by the seat of my pants.

If I knew two years ago that I would have the medical issues that I now face, I"d have never gotten a tank the size I built. Maintenance suffers when you can't bend a knee to go below or have the strength to clean the acrylic.
I am recognizing my limitations and I have elected to hire the LFS to come monthly to do maintenance. It's $75 that I'd love to save but I believe God does not give us problems, he gives us the opportunity to find a solution.
Until the neck and knee surgery are in the rear view, this is my reefing goal... Tread water with a little outside help.

I plan to beat this pest of a bacteria cyano by the end of next year. If it fails then I may start out fresh with just my two wrasses (Leopard and Pink streak if the naoko isn’t in the 4’ by then).

I'm going to stop trying to pet my fish.

Ok, that was a joke, but as others have mentioned I also have a difficult time leaving things alone. I'm going to be better about that. My goal for 2022 was to set up a bigger tank, but that has changed to just doing my little 18" cube as good as I possibly can. The plan is to get all of the testing kits/equipment that I should have bought when I started and really get a better understanding of lighting, flow, water chemistry and what is needed to have a thriving reef tank.

Eradicate bubble algae. Stabilize parameters better. Spend some time making my power bar and plugs more user friendly, organized and safe.

I just did it... pulled the old nasty live rock out of my sump and then spent the last 72 hours chasing all the detritus out of my system. Hoping for easier to control nitrates and phosphates now!

My plan is to finally stabilise my tank and start seeing some growth and happy corals again.
The last few months have been a rollercoaster in nutrient swings and once I get the doser I've put my hand up for, I'll hopefully get that to calm down and start to see some success.

I'd also like to get some more colour back in the tank as some of it seems to have trickled off due to the swings.

IF EVERYONE WOULD PLS BOW YOUR HEADS AND TAKE ONE MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR THE BEAUTIFUL TORCH CORAL COLLECTION THAT I LOST AT WAR IN 2021 THOSE dang BLACK BUGS SNUCK UP ON ME REAL GOOD ‍♂️ I WILL NEVER LET THAT HAPPEN AGAIN AND THATS NOT A GOAL ITS A FACT! HAPPY NEW YEAR REEF 2 REEF FAMILY I WISH YOU ALL A GREAT NEW YEAR AND STABLE TANK PARAMETERS

Lots of ideas, no plan of action as of yet!

Corals are doing so well in my display I've thought about setting up a couple frag tanks to sell corals out of. Turn it into a hobby level business to start with. But unsure. Seems like there's so many coral shops, be hard to compete. However, it seems I have a recipe for successfully growing corals, but unsure if I want to sell them commercially.

I also want a AIO reef tank in my office around 40-50 gallons. I was thinking maybe selling corals could pay for the aio tank. :)

I'm trying to get that sweet spot of nitrate and phosphate stability without dosing. Wish me luck :)

I have finished all my coral additions to my biocube 32. Time to sit back and let it grow into colonies with no casualties :). And to get my nitrate and phosphate levels at the sweet spot without having to dose, doing some feeding tests lately to see if a drastic increase will help. So far no, but one day this year I will find the answer with the help of everyone's past experiences I constantly read on here.

i wont cast a vote for this question for the very simple reason being I never tried keeping corals in my tank though all the fishes are reef safe. please suggest some species which i should try as a beginner with corals. also would be happy if someone would provide some small frags for placing in the tank as my LFS has no corals for sale
