No, the buttons for on and off on the lid like a touchpad and not like a traditional switch. They are flat pads that go through blue,blue white then white then off. So there is not way to keep them on all the time and just use a WiFi switch to tune the socket on and off. It all looks good when you first buy it with it all being integrated but thinking of the future and automated lighting etc makes it impossible.

The way the lights turn on and off make it impossible to use a smart plug. The only way to turn them on or off is on the lid of the tank.Welcome to R2R, smartplugs are the way to go for fast and easy.
