I think this is severe ich. I had a feeling he would flare up after the stress of today. Should I freshwater dip him? How long do I keep him in qt with copper? I already added copper. I feel so bad for him. @vetteguy53081

I can’t get clearer photos as I don’t want to stress him but I can confirm it’s ich. He went from this to this.@Jay Hemdal Also, can you post clearer pictures and perhaps a short video?
That’s what I happened. He was so stressed. It’s hard to make anything out - clearer pics are really needed. Fish don’t just go from no spots to covered in a few hours.
I can't see anything in that 2nd picture. But if ich is suspected you don't want to FW dip as it can cause wounds to open and risk infections. Copper at 2ppm for 14 days at least is the general ich treatment.
Okay thanks. How about this photo?I can't see anything in that 2nd picture. But if ich is suspected you don't want to FW dip as it can cause wounds to open and risk infections. Copper at 2ppm for 14 days at least is the general ich treatment.
I can kind of see it, is there white spots scattered across it's entire body or mostly localized?Okay thanks. How about this photo?
I have one. Also a bubbler or something that will expedite the gas exchange is needed when treating with copper.
Heavy breathing, not swimming very much, large spots!Hard to rule out velvet, but size of spots does indicate ich. How is it acting?
Either way, get copper up pretty fast to 2.5 ppm for 30 days.
Watch for ammonia as blennies can be very sensitive.
Like half his body but it’s kind of spreading. Like I mentioned it appeared in moments.I can kind of see it, is there white spots scattered across it's entire body or mostly localized?
Bringing him home from the fish store! Before and after…now.I think more history is needed here. What is the timeline for the fish in the two pictures and why did you move it to a bare tank. You mention “the stress of today” what was that?
Ich doesn’t go from zero to dying in a day, it takes 5 to maybe 10 days.
Jay
That would have been awefully quick and may be sand or sediment which is clearly shown on bottom next to fish. Is there a reason you went from display to quarantine ? As mentioned of a little thin and possibly stressed, I would have held off on transfer unless something critical appeared.I think this is severe ich.
