Hi guys sorry to post as I’m sure many do about these things but I’m worried about my clownfish. Got the pair before Christmas and I’ve noticed some odd behavior in the female and some spots maybe developing? It’s hard to tell at this point, but maybe I’m being paranoid? I attached a pic from the day I got her the free swimming, closeup, and the others are later. I included a couple of her in the sick tanks too, and it’s actually harder to see anything in the sick tank. She looks pretty normal in there. I can’t really tell what the stuff on her chin is.

She likes to hangout on the sand bed and seem a to sleep there sorta sideways. I know clowns are weird, but not sure. She eats fine and I can’t really notice any irregular breathing. After the lights come on, she swims around and stuff fine, but prefers the corner she sleeps in near the sand bed, almost like she’s trying to host there. No other fish are affected, or seem to be affected, even the male clown that I bought her with. He’s perfectly colored and active. I have not noticed any white spots on her fins or body, and the spots seem to be not really growing or spreading.

Start with FWD to rule out flukes.

Freshwater dip done. I don’t see anything in the water minus two brown pellet sized things. Not sure if my fish just puked up a pellet perhaps? Please see photo. The last photo is the pellet on a napkin. Honestly, it looks like poop. Safe to say I scared the **** outta him

My clowns both sleep/rest laying in the sand in corners, one or both of them dig holes down to the glass in the front corner. They also just swim up and down the glass corner nonstop. They're just weird.

You know what, I used that net last night to scoop out the excess pellets that he didn’t eat to prevent ammonia is spike. I bet that is it.
So the fish is acting normal and doesn’t seem sick, minus the little head injury she gave herself after freaking out in the tank when I first came in the room this morning. I’m thinking I will treat her preventively with an antibiotic and maybe general cure, just in case then add her back to the main tank after some observation. If she has some sloughing and discoloration only due to stress, then I don’t want to make it worse.

thoughts?
