its very cool! I gotta find one of those ! how long have you had it
I started my tank in late March and added it early April (of this year), but now I’ve flooded my 13.5G with rock flower nems, various lps and lots of zoas. I plan on adding more rubble rock to the sand bed to continue my Zoa garden so everything is a little all over the place haha. Here’s an updated tank photo I took the other day, I still need a better filter but I tried to filter so everything is visible. Torch is in the back left corner now.

This was part of a colony that came from a frag 10+ years ago and has been passed between me & two other friends, in several of our tanks over the years. If we put all the pieces together, it would probably be 3 feet wide, at least. This leather grows like crazy and I love it. So does my Banggai. :)

Oh gosh, it was originally in my friend’s tank and went through 2 upgrades there before he shut his tank down and gave the whole thing to my nephew who upgraded/moved it three times. He’s since given large pieces back to our friend after he got back into reefing 5 years ago. And I have it in two different tanks also. It was the first coral in both my 120g and my 28g nano cube.
It’s the gift that keeps on giving lol. My nephew is not the most gentle fragger when it comes to this coral either… he usually just rips pieces off. I have been much more methodical and gentle.
I think this thing could probably grow under a rock, it’s so hardy. Also, it’s not that impressive as a small frag but there’s something special about it when it gets this big. I’m not even a huge fan of leathers… it was just a really good hand-me-down. :)
The big one is probably 12” across and just as tall. The smaller one in my nano cube is probably 8” tall and 6-7” wide. The colors are pretty different in each tank too. Weird but cool.

I have had the smaller piece for about 1 1/2 years and the larger one, I've had only about 6 months. It's grown a couple inches wider in my tank than it was when I got it. The smaller piece was maybe 2" when I first got it from my nephew. Thinking of fragging a piece or two from the back side of the big one to pass on to another tank & maybe a friend if he wants some of it.

I will be there! If you’re going to be there too, I will definitely bring you a nice piece of this coral. I agree, we need to keep this coral alive!!
