I went to a frag swap today an saw a colony I liked for a price that I really could not pass up, even though the seller did not know what it was. No it is not a pearlberry, and no it is not a monti-anything. Regardless of whether or not he could ID it, I wanted it. It is almost like a pink/purple frogskin.

Any help would be appreciated. Apologies in advance for the crappy cel pic.

Without a much more clear photo, I can definitely say it's an Acropora, but that's as far as I can get. Even with a good photo, identifying Acropora corals, down to a species level, is an educated guess at best.

Thanks. I will get a better picture today and get it up. I did look at some tenuis pictures, and they seem close, but I am not sure.

As it is not a scientific crowd that I run with, I will probably go with the A. Anthocercis without fear of being wrong. Actually, I will probably forget the name when pressed and simply go with "an unspecific acropora". Thanks all for the help.

It is a very pretty piece. My2cents is to continue to try to find ID. Mainly because it could result in more money if you decide to frag it later. :moneygrubber:[

The "lotus" name has no credibility. It's just a name that WT has given his frag. The lineage starts with WT. You could just as easily start your own. Example; JBS Antho Acro, That would seem more legit IMO.
