Stability keeps me satisfied. Tanks 7 months old no water changes and everthing is growing.

Are you just keeping softies? How are you replenishing nutrients?

You know what I find really funny (not in laughable funny but curiously funny) Is that no matter how picky each & everyone of us are about our tanks, we're the 2% that make this hobby move.

Just look at the many used tanks on Ebay, Craigslist, etc.. of folks getting out because they couldn't make it work for them. I hear it all the time - "how do you do that?" (And my tanks are nothing special) But it made me realize that it would be really easy to sell off everything and just find something that isn't so challenging or some hobby that doesn't make you think your way through it, a hobby that is pretty much on "set it and forget it". Nahhh... not me. I like the challenge, I like understanding that these creatures we keep, teach us patience and that it's THEIR WORLD not ours.

I think we're all here because we like the responsibility and the challenges that come with keeping reef critters.

As a newbie to saltwater, I have a very ugly starter tank. What gives me the most pleasure right now is seeing stable parameters and all my cleanup crew still alive and kicking.

I get instant satisfaction from buying new stuff or finding old stuff I haven't seen in a while. LOL
