Reef or nothing. I’ve had a fresh water before. It’s cheaper to keep and buy fish for, but eh. Just boring to me. I had fresh for about 3 months then switched to salt. Never going back

If for any reason I go back to freshwater, I will go back to keep Discus. I still have some pictures on my phone.
AWC system will be the best for Discus. They need pristine water and probably some buffer to get then healthy and growing.I actually just broke down my Discus tank to convert it to a reef. I LOVED my discus and had 3 breeding pairs in there (17 Discus total). My problem was the water usage on a 200 gallon discus tank. I was doing daily 40 gallon water changes and it got old REAL fast. I would love to do it again, but not until I can setup a proper AWC system.
If you got out of reefing would you ever consider a planted tank or any other type of aquarium?

I just traded my 75g reef for a 30g to make water changes easier and cheaper. My next plan is to turn the 75 into a planted. Canister filter, (already have) ferts (cheap) and co2 (need to get and it’s about the most expensive piece). Water changes? drain then turn on the hose, no mixing necessary.
