A recent thread got me thinking about our profanity and slang language rules here at R2R. I have never really though about the term Pink *******.

Is the chalice name Pink ******* offensive?

Please vote.

I personally do not think it is offensive, but people with kids that surf this site with them might take it offensive obviously.. Just my 2cents..

In case anyone cares, here is where the name came from...

When we first got the colony, we simply were calling it "pinkie". Eventually, we decided to give it a name, not because any of the three owners were selling it, but just to be funny. I commented that it looked very "mammary" due to the pronounced bulbous coralite structure. So pink ******* was suggested... we all laughed. And it stuck. Considering all the other terms which could be used instead of "*******", I'd say we went with a pretty non-offensive, jovial choice :)

It don't bother me....I honestly think people need to loosen up a bit and thicken the skin.

I voted NO.

I don't find it offensive at all and I happen to be a woman. It's a coral for goodness sake. Let's not get too sensitive.

"Blue balls chalice" - that might be a cold water species:)

Well this thread in now is meant to offend you or anyone else who had a hand in naming this beautiful chalice. I just wondered and I want to be fair across the board. :)

Oh, no worries at all rev, I wasn't offended. Just wanted to offer the story :D Basically, we liked the fact that you couldn't say the name without giggling, just a little. This hobby should be fun, and we thought a giggle is a good thing.

If you look at the whole colony (RIP most of it, as I understand) you can see what we saw.... "Pink Mountains" didn't really make anyone giggle :D
