Is this growth?

Hi everyone.
My playing Montipora which I’ve had for about a month now, is doing beautifully and really vivid colour.
I’ve a question though........
Are these a sign of growth or something else. It’s mid way up the tank and the white bits are only showing on the bumps and on the outside of the Montipora. The polyps are open.
Sorry about the picture, it’s difficult to get one.
Hope someone can clarify this for me.
