Howdy Reef2Reef,

Everything in my tank coral wise has done amazing until my Acans look to have performed Poly bail out & the blasto’s have shrunk down.

I’ve attached photos and also posted my parameters that haven’t changed much over the last 10 months.

Salinity - 1.025
PH - 8.00 - 8.10
KH - 9.0
Calcium - 450
Mag - 1440
Nitrate - 5-10 range
Phosphate - .05-.07

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Your numbers are spot on for LPS. Has there been any other changes, like flow or lighting?

I have a very small Weeping Willow leather that is probably 8” away. I also run carbon in a GFO reactor that I change monthly.

Interesting thought though, could be into something.

I went through this recently with my acans, blastos were fine though. Never figured it out.

Only change was adding BRS Dual reactor for GFO & Carbon but kept my water parameters on par just stopped Carbon dosing as much.

I'd keep a close eye on your CUC, I'd be willing to bet one or more of them have developed a taste for your fleshy corals...

That sounds like it shouldn’t be an issue. But, sometimes any small change can knock things out of whack. I also agree that you should keep an eye on your cuc’s.

Would you think it would be the shrimp then? Out of the CUC listed?

True, peppermint shrimp can be terrible. Mine usually only last long enough to wipe out any aiptasia that's popped up. Once they start straying towards the corals my Marine Betta spots them and eats them. Fine by me.
