Good idea, I’ll try Teflon tonight. If i silicon without the gasket, do both sides correct?

Personally I'd try the teflon tape first, just to see if it helps seal those threads under the nut. If it does, then try replacing the teflon tape with a little silicone on the threads instead. (Or not, if you're happy with the teflon tape!)
I'd keep the gaskets as designed. On my Synergy Reef v2 overflow the gaskets between the outside box and the tank glass act as a nice thin spacer between them.

So I would silicon and still use the gaskets in between you’re saying?

Silicone (or just tape) just the threads where the nut goes on - not everything. And then yes, keep the gaskets without putting anything on them.

Curious, if I have to Teflon tape the one bulkhead wouldn’t that insist that the bulkhead is bad, and should just be replaced?

You could certainly try a totally different bulkhead first, but teflon tape is cheap. Like I said before, bulkheads really aren't meant to keep water from flowing back from the outside. Having them wet on both sides like we do is a bit beyond their design spec.

Bump . Tank has been cycling for a week, decided to raise the plumbing in the box to try and quiet it. It did quiet it, but it also started to leak, again... Wouldn’t be that big a deal, but the tank has rock, sand, and is shimmed.

I’m very upset to have to do this, and a little bit embarrassed. When I take the tank off the wall, what do I do? I know silicone, but how? Should I try to fill that big chip (I’m sure that is the cause) with silicone and smooth it out? Also what silicone do you guys use, bought local?

I just feel like running a ring around the bulkheads, won’t stop the leak, just will hold water in the silicone ring. That will be okay?

I don't think anyone can guarantee that anything you try will work for certain. We are not there looking at what is going on. Just go with your gut and give something a shot. At least with silicone, you can remove it, if it doesn't work and try something else.

I did have a friend once that had a bulkhead leak on a 250 gallon tank, possibly similar to what you have. He took non-hardening plumbers putty and packed the area between the outer threads of the bulkhead and the edges of the hole in the glass (from the back) with the putty and screwed the nut down on top of that. That stopped his leak. I don't know if it will stop yours. Just another idea.

Haha its my gut that has gotten me into so many issues. Just figure a ton of people on here have much more experience than I do, but I will go with my thought. Going to fill the huge chip, let it cure for how long?

Personally I would just be liberal with the silicone and snug it down.

Hah basically what I’m going to try. Would you fill the chips liberally, or run a ring around the bulkhead? Also would you silicone the threads of the bulkheads?

I would put gasket on inside, push bh through then on the outside put a bead of silicone around where the bh and glass meet. Then snug up and let dry. You can get ge 1 by the glass at Home Depot

I hope this worked out for you. I dealt with the same drama on my MM. Never again if I get another tank. I think syngery uses better bulkheads anyway . These gaskets were thin compared to the lifeguards I used for my return
