Thanks, it only has the one filament so must be mccoskeri.
Yup, agree in that case.
If I introduce a third species do you think it would be likely to calm things down a bit by spreading the aggression?
It should - it usually helps quite a bit.
Since the mccoskers finished his transition my yellowfin has pretty much adopted permanent stress colouration and tends to only come out during feeding time before being chased back into hiding.
Yeah, that won't be sustainable in the long run - it will take the toll and wither away. If adding another doesn't work, you'll need to remove one of these two.

I have one sold to me as a banana wrasse. Maybe not the best photo but the guy never stops moving. Haha

And that it is, but perhaps not the bananna you were hoping for: Thalassoma lutescens
An example of why I caution against common names!

Thank you for the ID! It's totally ok for my tank. I already have a hawk fish and another wrasse that take my inverts out. Haha

That's the Cebu variant of C. lubbocki, and it's a male. Females are nearly all pink in color.

Hi. @evolved , can you identify this one? Its similar to pintail but the body color is more orange and has a trident like tail. In one of the photos you can see the pintail on the upper left portion.

Better picture is needed but I would guess that it is a female, or very early sub-male Isosceles

Yeah, I'd need slightly closer/more clear photos to say for certain. The fish in the center of the second photo is the same fish from the first photo? It's definitely either isosceles or lunatus (or a hybrid of the two).

Here are some closeup photos. Forgive me for the quality of the pictures. I believe its in the lunatus complex but i can’t seem to find similar pictures online so maybe its a hybrid one? Im Very particular with its tail. I’ve never seen online pics with similar tail.

btw, it doesnt have any markings in its body so i think its not a pintail fairy.

Can't find a picture of an Isosceles female. However here is a picture on the net of a fairly early male. The tail is sorta trident shape. The dark horizonal line on the back park of the body is definately there.
Anyway, I would be great if you post pictures of this fish in a few month/year. Please tag me when you do. I am really interested it how he turn out.

I don't think so anymore.

I don't agree - there's a clear marking here:
9EC81515-0867-4653-80A3-284529AC22FD.jpeg

Which points towards isosceles. Further, the third picture of yours outlines the shape of the tail quite nice, which also points toward the lancet shape just starting to form, as it should on an early transitional isosceles male.

The only thing which makes me hesitate a small amount is the dorsal fin in both your second and third photos looks quite dark (more like lunatus), but I believe this is just a shadowing/lighting effect.

Therefore, I'm 85% sure on isosceles at this point. Give it some months and it will definitely be clear though, one way or another.

Thoughts on this wrasse? Was labeled as a Long Fin fairy wrasse, but I’m not 100% sure.
Best pictures I could get at the moment. Can try for some clearer shots.

Yellow dorsal fin with a long, thin piece extending about to the middle of the tail fin. Small black dot toward the very back, bottom of the dorsal fin. Tail is hard to tell. Mix of purple and blue from what I can make out. Yellow anal fin with s very thin outline of that purple/blue from the tail. Can’t quite make out the ventral fins. White belly with a blurry thin line of bluish purple on the very bottom.
