It's a forster's hawkfish. They DO have a white band on the forehead...

Melanurus, yes? This wrasse is large 3.5 inches, larger than many full color Terminal Melanurus male. TIA
When will he loose his baby spots. I am anxiously await for him to turn full terminal male.

Yes, that's melanurus. And it will probably go terminal male "in time". :)

There's no way to put a number on it.

This fish has caused me some confusion trying to id it. Either cf. Cyanopleura or female Solorensis from what I can make out.

This fish has caused me some confusion trying to id it. Either cf. Cyanopleura or female Solorensis from what I can make out.

That's cf cyanopleura (sometimes called cf solorensis).

Thank you buddy, in other words it's a mongrel that could be bits of both Haha. Cross breeding wrasses, have they no consideration for us fish keepers?
