I am so easily amused. I’m watching the tracking on the kraken lid and it shows where it’s currently at via a map lol

On to more serious stuff, since I’ll have this amazing light I won’t be limited so much in what can grow in this tank. So, give me ideas on what y’all think I should stick in here? I could move the 35 back in there but it’s doing so good I’d hate to mess it up. Seems a perfect amount of sand/rock/light/flow. I’d rather not jinx it.

Corals, fish, best rocks to invest in. I think I have most of the equipment settled. I have a return pump, and do still have one of the other powerheads, it’s an el cheapo Amazon one.

If absolutely love to get a BTA finally to thrive in here, thought of torches but I think those wouldn’t like so much light? Take the torches to the 35 and go with more light loving corals.

Should I invest in dosing?

I have plenty of time on all of this, I’m taking it slow. This time it’s not an emergency move like it was when I first set this up (and I thank you all for such generosity with the entire process, all the advice and friendships along the way. Y’all truly don’t get enough credit spoken from me for all of that)

I’ll be wintering the pallifina over in here. Hopefully they won’t be too mad with the flow. Toss their moss in with other plants. Once I switch out the current R24 LED with the Orphek, I’ll bring them in. They’re not as strong jumpers so I think I can get them to stay put with the seran wrap.

Also, I am going to see if anyone loca can use the R24 light. While I always like having spares I think it would be best to clean it up and gift it to someone with a small tank. It’s nothing special, a couple of the LEDs are now burnt out which is disappointing. I had planned to sell it but I can’t sell it like that.

Anywho, early morning ramblings and I’ve gotta start getting ready to head to Russ lol.

As y’all’s eyes glaze over from reading the bantering, here’s Melody being super cute this morning. (Please ignore the swollen hand)

I wouldn't worry about dosing yet, not till you know what's going in the tank and there's a need. and you could grow anything with that light, what's your ideal tank, build that.

maybe a harlequin filefish heaven. fast growing acros, lots of flow, and a couple of file fish.

I’ll have to research care of all of those lol. Acros kind of scare me XD

The only thig I will say, skip the BTAs unless you want a tank full. They split too often and you have to try and get them off what ever they attach to. I started with one and now have about 16 of them

New lid! It’s a lot nicer than I thought. It looks really good up there. Two things I’ve learned from this:
1) it’s too heavy for Atlas to bump off, so that’s nice. And
2) the gap in the back for the AIO chamber is too large a gap for juvie macs.

This means that while I did enjoy this tank for Atlas it’s not feasible to move him back. It’ll stay a second reef while the 79 gets rebooted. It also means that chances are I’ll break down and purchase the lid for my Waterbox 10 to eventually move him into that. Or just leave him in the zoo med lol.

Also Hubbs said “I could do this with a router” :grinning-face-with-sweat: so I told home “Good, the 70 needs one.” Will update in five years how that comes about cause no need to remind me every year about something, I’ll get to it.”

Anyways, crappy quick pics.

Today is my 25th wedding anniversary! It’s hard to believe we’ve been married for that long. Like, not cause he’s difficult, he’s not. But it doesn’t feel like 25 years. I asked for the new LOZ game. Probably shoulda asked for corals XD

For the gap due to the filter wall height, you may use an item similar to this to help close that off; search for "Rubber Edge Trim 5Feet, EPDM U Channel Edge Seal Strip, Fits Edge up to 1/16 inch (1.6mm), Black" on Amazon as a link would not post

Thanks! For the reef I won’t need it but if I move the macs back in I’ll definitely grab that. I think that I’ll probably just order one for the clear mini ten for him and move him to that tank eventually. And I’ll have to get one on the 70.2. Will be some time on those though.

I love the quality of this, it’s very well made! This weekend I’ll snap some better photos and share in the Facebook group.
