Hello, anyone ever moded the hb-100 intake tube to run the pump a little deeper?
My new sump is very tall and the reef octo skimmer's pump wont be deep enough to run.
My question is if cut and added a few inches to the intake tube would this cause an issue with the pump creating micro bubbles and getting them to the collection cut properly?
Or will the pump struggle to do its job?
Seems like a few inches or so wouldnt effect much at all. Any insight would be great, thanks all.

First off welcome to R2R! I don’t have that skimmer but I would not think increasing intake line length will effect performance.. be sure to start a thread in meet and greet section to introduce yourself.

ok sorry, very new to forums. i will do that.

It might decrease your flow going to the skimmer. You can always cure this by adding a more powerful pump to the skimmer.

Only way to find out is by trying. Worst case youneed a stronger pump
