I have both. What calibration fluid did you use? Some solutions are stated to be good for conductivity probes and refractometers, but not all.

Did you get the sump from them today?

I just cancelled my order. Broken promises on ship dates and that John would call, Geo’s Reef has built two pieces for my tank and will be getting my business for another on Monday.

I think they are going to deliver it today. I know exactly what you mean. I have several vendors that are telling me it will be shipped tomorrow, and six weeks later still nothing. I even called the owner, and was told the same thing, and still nothing. I don't understand why they think lying to their customers is a good idea. Setting the right expectations is far more important in my book, if it is going to be 6 weeks then tell me 6 weeks.

I’m with you. I was talked out of canceling and told the sump was being leak tested and shipped today.

I agree if they would just be honest I would be patient. The problem I have is there are people who have ordered after me that have gotten their orders.

7 months and waiting....

Yea, I kept calling them and checking on the status I think that helped push them along. I hope you get a great sump. I'm sorry you had to wait for 7 months. When you told me about your order, I started emailing and calling them every day.

I finally got all the rock in. I'm still can't decide on the structure. I also got the UV in that thing is a lot bigger then I was thought it would be. Hopefully my helper will be willing to help me install it.

So I ordered my sump from Advanced Acrylics. I spoke with John, and I let him know that I needed by the fourth, and he said not a problem he guarantees it will be there by the fourth. I had to go pick it up from the shippers today, because they tried to deliver it to the company without calling ahead on the 8th. Well they are closed on Tuesday's which they would have know if they had called. They didn't call anyone, it just sat on their dock. I called them out of frustration, and drove out to Selma to pick it up my self. Only to find out they sent the sump but it was the wrong color. So will have all blue pipes with a red and white sump. Don't get me wrong the sump is beautiful, just not what I ordered. I was expecting much better customer service then what I received given the price of the sump.;Rage
So, if anyone knows a way of changing the color of the weld I'm open to ideas, because it is to late to send it back now.

id call the company, tell them you want the correct sump and when you receive it , you’ll send this one back on THERE dime, it’s clearly not what you ordered or paid for. Or tell them you want a refund/discount for the mismatched color.

these vendors need to stop pulling this crap. I had the same issue with a vendor, taking twice as long as there 4-6 week deadline. Just because your the “best” doesn’t mean you can take advantage of your customers.

I was going to but it's too late, I have other things on the schedule, and I'm already getting flack from other vendors because this sump is holding up the process. I will just always have something to talk about. I have a call into John right now, I have called twice now, I think he is dodging me.

I also got an AA sump, also PVC acrylic hybrid. My advice would be to keep the sump, get as much of a discount as you can from John, and change your plumbing to red. Trying to change the weld strips is asking for trouble.

if you has all the time in the world, you could try to get the sump remade (which I imagine would take an eternity) or return the sump and go with a different builder.

but that totally sucks, for what should be a very satisfying, dream build experience. Did you pay for it all up front? He sent me photos for me to pay the rest after deposit.

Awesome. We will need pictures. Were you able to work anything out with the sump builder?? I sure hope they made it right.

They gave me a $300 instore credit. Which I may use for a frag tank later on down the road. They also said I could ship it back to them, and once they got it they would send out the correct one. However, I didn't want to wait for weeks to get the tank up and working. Because it is sitting at the pet store. I now need to sell the other sump I bought. I was going to send it back to BRS, but UPS wanted 300 dollars to ship it.

Better than nothing, but still stings not getting what you wanted in the first place. I would have done the same thing opting to get the tank setup with the sump they shipped rather than mess around with waiting for another one to be made/shipped. Once the tank is up and running you may see it, but most won't notice this minor flaw in execution.

Hope the sale of your initial sump goes well. It is crazy how much shipping some of this stuff costs.

I mean, it’s red white and blue now... how patriotic. One positive way of looking at it

You know I think you are right, I was also thinking it will also match my RE skimmer. Thanks
