I did some tinkering while i was too busy getting dosage right. Im manually dosing at the moment so when i install my doser, it would be easy for me to tinker with it. My plan is to manually dose for at least a month to see lrecise parameter numbers. I just put up my vortech controllers, using the holders i just ordered. I didnt drill it to the tank stand, but instead i used velcro. I hate holes in the stand so just in case i want to upgrade later on, there wont be any. I still am trying to decide where to put the doser. I do not wantbit to be too crowded in the stand snd it is hard since i have very limited space. Some pics of the tank and under. Now i just need to tuck wires in.

Started a 3 day blackout last night. I am battling dinos at the moment. Not fun, but it has to done. Covered up the tank fully with black plastic liner. Taped it up, then dosed bacteria hoping to out compete it with the lack of it. Im not quite sure of this method, hopefully it works. The plan is to dose nitrifying bacteria for three days, remove the liner, then add fritz zyme 406 for sludge removal while i do heavy wet skimming. I also turned the light off the ARID reactor, skimmer at the moment. I heard splashing last night which im guessing, the fish are going nuts inside.

I found an easier method of covering the tank is to use one of those blue plastic tarps you can buy at a hardware store for a few bucks. I have a little one 4 x 6 and strap it closed with a dollar store bag of bungees.

What are you using to feed the reactor?
It feeds off marinelands maxi-jet 400 which I made a mistake. It is pretty loud for what it is. I will be switching to a cobalt mj400 which is a much quiet pump or the nyos viper.

After the 3 day blackout, things cleared up and I am now dosing Fritzyme 460 just to take the sludges out. I did a water change of 15% and things are starting to look better.

I’m also battling dinoflagellates in my frag tank. I’m going to give your solution a try. Thanks for sharing, and I’m glad things are looking better for you.

I just hope they dont come back at all. I just kept adding nitrifying bacteria while on blackout and fed more than normal to bring nitrates and phosphate up. Now, just consistent dosing of 460 but of minimal dose. I try to spread the recommended every maintenance amount of dosage that they suggested. Good luck on the tank man, i know its frustrating. If they come again, i will try the peroxide method or bleach. Let me know how yours turns out and ill keep an updated post as well in thr next day or 2.

How about EcoSmart Live? I hear that it's not always accessible?
Mine randomly is not accessible and I have to reset the power on it. But what I did was install a remotely switched outlet to it so even when I'm not home I can reset the reeflink and connect to it.
