More rock? Critique scape please!

#40 Caribsea Life Rock.
Water level approximates sand depth.

1. Do I need more rock? Not going to run any sponges. Just in-tank basket with floss and carbon/chemipure or fuge.

2. Critique! Sorry for the dirty glass. Had this thing spotless until I started tumbling rocks/water around in it.

I think the scape looks great as it is. The only thing to consider is surface are for beneficial bacteria. The more surface are, the higher the capacity for nitrifying bacteria.

I really dig that scape, looks good to me but I tend to lean towards the minimalist look myself. If you wanted to you could add a small arch to connect the two features but I think that might get you away from that clean look you were going for.

There is 2 ideas for u. It will be my next display rock work.

This is from reef builder, looks like tree style rock work.

Next up is flowing reef, look supernatural.

Yeah, that's my concern. I have a few pounds of rubble I can use to hide some seams and stash in some crevices.
#20 more rock showing up tomorrow. Might just send it back and grab a couple choice pieces from LFS.
Do ya think its high enough? Not gong to be growing acro.

I think the height is good. Even many softies and LPS will fill in a lot of the upper portion of the tank. Plus it leaves swimming room for your fish. I generally don't go much higher than 1/2 way up the tank. There may be a few spots that go slightly higher, but not many.

Here is a picture of my current system. You can see that the rock is mostly under the 1/2 point.

Is there sand in there? Looks ridiculously smooth.

Looks bare bottom to me. at least for now. I don't add sand to my systems until the scape is done and epoxy'd where needed.

Btw. Lpsouth1978, Is that a carpet nem? That thing is freaking huge!

For the size of the tank, that amount of rock is good enough. They look good, and give a lot of swimming space for fish.

It is and it is. I actually have 4 of them in that system.

Ok. I couldn't help it... I felt like 40 lbs wasn't enpugh, so I added a couple more pieces and a little rubble here and there.

Turned the right structure counterclockwise a bit. I feel like it gives the scape a little more depth.

Also, the big flat piece on the left tower is different because I got it from the LFS to help seed coralline and critters.

I thought it was very god at the start and was worried when you updated, however I still think it looks great.
