My 29 gallon Beginner reef

Good start. What are the tank specifics of the tank? skimmer, flow, lighting, etc... I have a 29 gallon also.

I have a coralife superskimmer 65, 250W HQI sunpod, oceanic 250gph wavemaker, about 30lbs LR and 25lbs LS, recently lost all fish, so just corals for now ( hammer, xenia, mushrooms, several zoas, green star polyps, button polyps, anthelia, and some kenya tree corals).

I just added supplemental lighting with a Current Nova Extreme 2 bulb HO T5 fixture.

it looks like you need to test that water! it looks like your going thru your cycle, and your tank looks very unhappy. it's overstocked in it's new age. if it's not a newly started tank then you still need to test your parameters.

It's been up for 2 months. All params are fine.
Calcium-480ppm
KH -11
Nitrates - between 0 and 5 ppm
pH - 7.9
Phosphates - 0ppm

Everything is still looking good. Now, any suggestions for fish for this tank?

are you objected to getting clowns? My buddy has a pair of grade A Picasso's in his 29 and they are amazing

if it were mine,
I'd consider a small Anemone and a pair of clowns
maybe a cleaner shrimp

that's what I'm shooting for if I pick up a biocube for my son's room

be advised,
many people say that anemones are not for beginners
and need lots of space.
if they decide to move around your tank (and often do) they can sting the **** out of your corals

250w MH is a lot of light. I was using a Sunpod 150w 14k Phoenix and my favias, chalices and any other lps directly under the light was getting bleached.

In July, I switched to a Current Nova Extreme Pro T5 6x18 and my corals are doing so much better. In fact, my chalices (pink *******, Tyree bubble gum monster, emerald mummy eye and oregon mummy eye is coloring back up.

I have an anemone in the tank at the moment. A quite large haitian reef anemone. Will try to post some better pics of corals tomorrow

Update on my tank. Been through a lot lately. Upgraded to a 55 gallon tank and just recently decided to go back to my 29 gallon, as I could not afford to purchase enough livestock to make the 55 look decent. Trying to located a 45 or 60 gallon cube to go to, but no luck so far. Here is what it looks like now.

Ok fair enough. So what are your plans for this tank?

The 29g dimensions don't allow for much room to play with but I would try messing around with the aquascaping and see if you can get some interesting shapes.
