I lost about 1mm of water over 24 hours, I'd imagine due to evaporation. So it's looking good for no leaks! There is water under the bulkheads but it's coming from INSIDE the return/overflow tubes, seems to be condensation.

*note, only the overflow is filled with water*

Welcome to the biggest money pit.

But you will have a ball loading up your tank with so many beautiful corals.

I'm really looking forward to it! I've siliconed the first of 3 pieces of glass in my custom sump tank build tonight. So tomorrow I'll try to silicone the other 2, then it's a 24-48 hour wait before I can actually expose it to water.

I'm really excited that the bulkheads are holding so far, I've never had a drilled tank before, and this was of major concern to me. But I suppose if they're holding for the past 3 days, they're going to hold!

Protein skimmer should be here tomorrow, and the Mag pump here Thursday, however, the silicone won't be dry in the sump until maybe Friday. So I might be looking @ water in the tank this saturday

Looking @ one of these and a submersible pump with 5/16" tubing for an ato system. Just use a 5 gallon bucket as a reservoir.

I wouldn't think it would evaporate that much unless you have a fan or something on it.

Thanks! I realize I'll probably want to do some things differently eventually, and after some experience. But I'm trying to get alot of stuff done right the first time, before i ever set up the tank. Hence the sump/skimmer, etc, etc...

I need a lamp to put on the sump for the MacroAlgae, my LFS uses clip on lamps and 5k LED bulbs. Any suggestions? I LOVE the idea of LED because they won't get hot, and I'd rather not leave a small clip on lamp all day with a regular incandescent or 13w CFL..
