My SPS & Clam Tank

😍 I’m sure you’ve said before but how many clams do you have!?!? I feel like there’s some in every photo! The colors from them are stunning!
I think like 15? I lost count…

I need more. 😛

If there’s a record for most maxima clams in a tank, I want to beat it…

lol

I’m sure you hold the record for non commercial 🤣 any more and we might have to consider you a clam farmer…
This is the situation on the left side of the tank.

The title under my name used to be “Clam Fanatic” for the longest time.

I stirred the sandbed prior to a water change, and the corals had a crazy feeding response. I’ve never seen such a pronounced effect, even when feeding powdered and liquid coral foods.

I should probably stir it more often. My tank is bare bottom, but I have a thin, sand layer on opposite ends of the tank.

Remember my Achilles tang that died after a week that @Dr. Reef generously decided to fully compensate?

Today, I told him I decided against the Achilles; I don’t want another achilles anymore. I used the credit toward a new, pending fish order.

Someone put a new male anthias in my tank without my consent!

…or, another one of the females decided to transition. Yup. They said it’s likely one will kill the other. They said two males will not cohabitate long term.

In other anthias news, one female has a bulging eyeball.

Other than that, the fish are well! Here’s the new male addition.

This is happening in my tank as well. Female converting but it seems to be taking a while. Which I’m okay with. Also another female got popeye and unfortunately hasn’t been eating Haven’t seen it the last few days. The first female that got popeye never stopped eating and is doing fine but is blind in one eye.

My tank is purple from all the coralline I scraped. I haven’t touched the back glass for months!!

I might show my highly patented algae scraper. It’s top secret.

Very cool. Is it just a regular razor? Does it have double, triple blades. Does it matter?

I can provide Amazon links if anyone’s interested. 🙂
