Some new frags coming their way...

They were supposed to be shipped overnight but in sight of the chilling temperature (-19 c) the store suggested to repport it.
So, maybe friday the 8 or the 15 the new corals will get here.
Not the best timing (with the aefw treatment underway), but they were too nice to pass, especially the monti.

Thanks!
Me too i’m jealous of the corals in the states!
I’m from Canada, we do have a few shops with interesting pieces in Montreal but not near the amount of the states.
And by the way, here the aussie stuff is quite expensive when available.

Some more pics of the angels, so far they dont cause too much troubles. The majestic seem to like a polyp of the red planet from time to time and a nip of my red/green favia.

Walt disney: the little acro lost the hint of pink visible in the last picture of it. Maybe due to the stress of the frequent manipulations or the higher par he was receiving for 1 month on the acrylic sheet.

Now it’s more green/yellow and really glow under blue light.
And finally the new purple tang who already try to make a stand.

Well, first thing to realize when you remove two adult tangs from your tank is that these fishs eat algea all day long... everyday.
As you can guess the algea went rampant in no time.
I had to add snails and clean the back glass (they could spend their live on it).
Now the amount is back to a more normal level, i will try to clean the back glass weekly.
The reef from above, only the return pumps on

The angels and anthias
The regal have a small injury/swelling near his gill.
He still eat well so i will try to get him back with in tank treatment and good feeding.
He goes to the cleaning station (shrimps) daily.

One of the anthias (the bigger) went "popeyed" for a week, then the eye got back in place but there was a little pocket of air in it.
Now, one week later all seem back to normal.

Sorry for the late response, haven't seen the notification.
I dont dose fw stop presently, the product seem to bring my n and p to undetectable when i use it (5 ml/day).
As for the angels they seem fine, the regal still have is little thing near the gills but it seem to heal slowly.
The majestic is no 1 on all aspects.
They do nip the acros from time to time, so far no real issues just less pe.

Thanks for the nice comments, always appreciated!
I'm not sure how i got aefw in the first place, when i started to keep acros in 2012 i did not knew how to check for the health of the coral at the moment of the purchase and end up buying some specimens with receding tissue.
They are in the system since a few years, maybe as far back as 2012.
In the post # 78 i explain the treatment for the aefw, for now it seem to have work but i still dip 2 or 3 random acros at the time of the water change to see if any come down (every 2 weeks).
As for the op, i think it is the reef raft strain.
The one i bought at raging reef last year (the smaller one), didn't had a lineage or to be precise i did not ask for it. There was a colony in his tank and i could see the same color patterns.
The second frag was bought from another hobbyist last fall.

New aquascape
I decided to make some changes to improve (hoping) things in the tank.
The acros were not all centered with the lights, i opted to align them with the radions to achive better coverage and improve the growth patterns.
My stand is quite high so the acros were more visibles from the sides rather than the top and some of thems show signs of over illumination (the ssc is almost all green/yellow but a frag of it in a lower spot still show some red).
To adress these things i lowered the main pieces with the acros.
And finally the rainbow monti was in the process of covering the entire rock. Now he have is own island.

Still some work to do (mostly for the lps) but the hard part is over.
I tuned the radions 5% lower to see if the coloration improve (65%).
And i have a new fish since 3 weeks: a longnose butterfly.
He eat well and seem healthy, just a little stressed by the purple tang.
Pics of him to come.
