Over the past few months I have had 4 fish disappear without a trace. Next a clam disappears with only the shell left behind. Today I find my starfish with all of it's legs gone but one. I have searched my tank looking for what could be the dirty culprit but have found nothing. Does anyone have any ideas??

You have a serious predator. Could be a Mantis Shrimp, pistol shrimp, rogue crab, predatory snail or a Bobbit Worm. There are many things it could be. Have you looked in the tank after lights out to see if you could see anything? They can't see red light, so if you have one, use it and you'll probably find something.

Throw it out the car window...

Sorry, couldn't resist.

Bottle or tall jar with shrimp as bait would be my first attempts.

They bore a hole in your rock and live there; usually in a base rock. They are notoriously hard to catch. You can look at the bottom of all your rocks for an unnatural hole, right at the sand line. That is usually a tale tell sign. I guess you can tell I've had one before...lol.
