So i blacked out for a week , diatoms are in the past dino's got crushed and whats left are being taken out by the cyano , my clean up crew is now inbound to take care of the mess (copepods, snails, sand stars , hermit crabs, and a couple clowns) along with chemiclean to take out the cyano, water change will be done once cyano has cleared and then starting the new year i will be stocking coral and much more fish‼️

Candy corals , frag box , saltwater pro's make room there's a new reefer in town
And he's coming for your inventory 😅😁

The tank looks very young, so I would assume diatoms, dinoflagellates, cyanos, (and soon green hair algae) are just the expected "ugly phase" and don't need any treatment at all.

Did the tank already go through the ugly phase and these things came back, or why did you decide some form of treatment was necessary?

I don't know how you determined at which point the ugly phase was so bad it required treatment, but if there is still excessive silicate in the water, diatoms will come back to finish their job. Don't get discouraged when this happens. I would just let nature do its thing. Next up: Green hair algae.

Enjoy the ride!

Ugly phase often gets worse before it gets better, and takes months and you might have more than one. My bare bottom tank just finished its third ugly phase 2 years in, and while I knew I was settling in for a longer maturation with bare bottom, time is the most important commodity people generally invest in salt tanks.

I wish you luck. I've had chemiclean work in a mature tank and only get rid of what it was supposed to, and I've had it nuke a mature tank back to the beginning. Common enough to kill one thing and have something worse replace it - Nature abhors a vacuum. If this were me, I'd be putting back in good bacteria to replace what was killed with something like MB7.

Fingers crossed for good outcomes!

Good luck. As stated above, this is normal. You may not need to go to the extreme that you did. It’s all part of a new tank. If you want to help, Add some live rock in your sump or display, and just give it some time.

Don’t be discouraged if some or a lot of that comes back.

Green hair has already been developing in spots , cyano is the only one i worry about its not good for the fish , mist of my clean up crew will feed on it either way i think its better to treat it

First tank?

The uglies don't just go away and then never come back. A blackout also stopped the progress of all the good photosynthetic organisms that we need for a healthy system. It is why they are nothing more than a band aid solution
