Need help on treating this

Hello Everybody

I am starting to get patches of white slime in my tank on the live rock and wanted to see if anybody knew what this is and what was done to treat it if anything.

It is sponge, I wouldn't worry about it but if it bothers you you could try to scrub it off with a toothbrush in a bucket of water and not in the tank... It will probably release spores and then your whole tank will be a sponge city.

sponges are not bad for your tank, if your tank has sps they will be helpful because of their cleaning capability and also by feeding corals through the release of spores. there is a article on the september/october issue of the coral mag, called coral feeding, you should read it and explains a little bit about the sponges and your reef.
