I have the Apex for a little over a year and it's been flawless. Expansion is virtually limitless. I run my Vortech's with the wireless WMX module. Very satisfied.

Love my Apex. I'm currently using it for almost everything on my tank- monitor and control pH, monitor and control temp, monitor ORP, control calcium reactor, control ATO, control LED lighting (including dimming for sunrise and sunset), control Vortechs, moon lights, control feeder, etc. I also love the ability to look at the current status of my tank with my Android.

Apex hands down. They seem to have the best systems to control, and also most user friendly in myexperience....

Having trouble setting up email/text because GMX.mail is not working , and Apex support team couldn't tell me what other email server to use.

The unit itself and the iPhone control works great

Networked it doesn't work well with Safari! But it works great on FireFox on iMac, for advanced programing

Isn't that your email provider? I'm guessing that they wouldn't want to tell you what email service you want to use. If you take a look at the unofficial user's guide, there are a list of providers and how to set them up.

I've got an Apex and it's been a great controller for me. I'd highly reccomend it to anyone who's looking for a controller

I had a Profilux and switched to an RKE.

They all have their Pluses and Minuses

But for me the RKE had what I wanted and offered the most flexibility.

I must say I love my 2 profilux units. Not sure there isn't anything they can't do at this point.

The Profilux Tablet UI they have been talking about seems really cool, but I'm sure it will be around $1,200+

My RKE has been awesome thus far...no hiccups except for the first month or so (I was on the preorder years ago)

My real suggestion is to make a list of what you need the controller to do.
Then look at the various controllers, try to actually play with them if possible.

Every reef tank setup has it's own requirements.

As you see right in this thread Some love a certain controller,
and that same controller does not meet the needs of another.

In then end find what works for You and don't fall for the hype.
