New ATI Straton Flex LED

Which website?
Not sure what website picea used, but the ATI North America website sells the tank mount:

Thanks! Looks like they are using 1010 per their 1”x1” dimensions listed. Looks like they’re just using off the shelf extruded aluminum pieces to assemble this. They don’t even have a proprietary mount, just a piece of aluminum as the tank rest.
This light may be my future upgrade. Love the form factor and efficiency. Think it would help eliminate shading from my kessils without losing the sleek modern look.

Oops you’re totally right. I’m not sure why my brain thought those were 2020s.

Hey, so mine came, and while I'm sure it's perfectly functional, the connector they're selling for the rail to the lights is clearly 3D-printed and not in line with the fit and finish of the rest of the product, in my opinion. I'll grab a photo later.

They have shown off the mounting pieces in many videos and they are 3D printed pieces that hold the light to t slot aluminum

My Flex 102 is coming later this week. I would like to see a close up of the connector if you get a chance.

lol. I ordered 2x 102 flexes but ATI accidentally sent me 2x 102 pros.

Guess my review of the flexes will have to wait 😔

Sorry for the delay. Like I said, probably just fine, but it was surprising.

I ordered a pair for my 2x 204 pros, that arrive today actually. I plan on spray painting them a semi gloss white to match the fixture. But I agree, that look doesn’t match but at least they have the option and it’s not over priced.

I called before ordering and they said they 3d print them in house at ATI North America, not Germany. So it’s oem but not really. Also the flex mount is still in the works.

Thanks for taking a pic and posting. Not a very complicated design to reproduce. White or gray would be much better looking.

Oh man, I was all set on buying two 102 Pros for a standard 120, 48 x 24. Now they're claiming this new light will cover the same area? Since Im going all SPS I assume Ill still need two regardless?
I wouldn’t look at just par, but coverage and shadowing. For SPS you want to light as many sides of the coral as possible and with a light that’s only 6” of LEDS depth wise, you’re only going to get good coverage in the middle part of your tank (grant to back wise). If it were me, 2 of these or 2 of the 102s is basically the same thing, although with 2 flex you could slightly tilt the front and back to provide more angles in the middle of the tank.

I have the same size tank and will start with one and then determine if I need a second for coverage (my tank is very full).

I get the coverage argument about shading and dont disagree, but the light panel on a Radion G6 is less than 6" wide and most people wouldn't put four of those on a 48X24" tank. Thats effectively what two Flexes would be.

They.might given a full on packed SPS tank to greatly reduced shading. However, IMO panel.lights like the ATIs and Orphek's are the way to go for obviously reasons..Am surprised Ecotech haven't come out with a panel light as IMO Radions are a bit old hat. I guess if they are still selling well they won't but to me its a bit backward thinking.

I wouldn’t run a single row of radions for SPS either, lol.
